Spring on the BIG-WATER Black River!
High water quadruples the intensity of the Black River during the spring run off.  The class III to the class IV+ rapids of the big water Black are powerful and continuous ....... an 8 mile adrenaline rush.  Unexpected swims are a definite possibility.  Previous rafting experience recommended on Spring trips.  Trips originate in Watertown, New York.

Summer & Fall on the Black River
It's more than a day of exhilarating whitewater, It's a full day of fun.  It's stretching back in the hot sun as your raft drifts down a quiet section of the river. Or floating in the warm water, supported by the buoyant life vest.

It's water fights and splashing!
 Jokes and songs.
 Shorts and tees.
 Rolling down the river with a great bunch of people!

And its the cold beverages and hot barbecue at the end  of the day when the river trip turns into a river party!   The camaraderie of friends and family around a fire at the nearby 
campground. But whitewater remains the star attraction of a
 Black River summer. Packed into eight miles of river are no less
 than 14 sets of rapids. No experience required  - just an adventurous attitude. High adventure rafting for everyone! It's a full day of fun!  Trips originate in Watertown, N.Y.

Sacandaga RIVER
Picture a playful river filled with warm, clean water and surrounded  by the magnificent Adirondack scenery of the Lake George vacation region. It's called Sacandaga.

Above Lake Luzerne, New York,  a 3 1/2 mile section of the Sacandaga is filled with stretches of friendly rapids and fast-flowing ripples.   Bounce over the rapids inside a professionally guided raft or plunge  through the waves while seated in an over-sized inner-tube. Either way,  you'll find a day of fun, sun, and thrills on New York's whitewater playground.

Summer Sacandaga Tubing

Captain your own craft! Tubing allows you to get "up close and personal" with the Sacandaga's whitewater. Rapids that seem friendly and playful in a raft turn into wild rushes when experienced in one of ARO's tubes. One low price includes provision of a factory-tested inner tube, professional life vest and a continuous shuttle so you can run the rapids once or play on the river all day.

Family raft trips and the tubing shuttle bus leave our outpost every 2 hours beginning mid-morning. Call for specific departure times.

MOOSE RIVER
Hard-Core Whitewater In April
Rapids on the 14 mile stretch of the class V Moose River are intense and quick, resulting in more unexpected swims than any other New York raft run.  The Moose Plus Program provides an extended trip offered only on Fridays.  Experienced rafters only.  Trips originate in Old Forge.

Minimum age in April is 18 years old

Summer Moose Family Rafting
The summer Moose is a trip that virtually every family
can enjoy.  Geared for younger ones.  Our rafting trips
 can be enjoyed by kids as young as 8.  This is also an ideal river for first time rafters in the summer time when the Moose is a class I and II river, which allows for a delightful warm water trip.  Trips originate in Old Forge.
